USAGE GUIDELINES
1. Frame
If you treat it with care, your Valinor sofa will serve you for a long time. Here is some advice:
Don’t sit on the back and the arm-rests, and if you do so, do it with care.
Don’t jump on the sofa, unless you are a toddler.
Take off all removable parts (seats, back, etc.) when moving the sofa to an another room or place. This will reduce its weight by 30% and diminish the risk of an accident.
Avoid kicking the sofa’s front as much as possible.
Don’t walk on the sofa when converted to a bed. The uneven distribution of weight may damage the supporting lamellas.

II. Upholstery
Removable textile upholsteries
Removable upholstery is very easy to maintain. Wash at 30°С, switching off the tumbler. If you use a dryer, be careful not to overdry the upholstery. To avoid colour differences of one piece of furniture to another, always wash all pieces of upholstery together. The upholstery will shrink slightly (up to 5%), but will loosen soon after the washing. In cases of more frequent washing, we recommend you buy an additional grey-cloth case to go under the upholstery. It keeps the wadding together and facilitates the removal of the upholstery.
Don’t leave the sofa under direct sunshine, as it may fade the sofa's colours. Soften the light with curtains or blinds.
Dry cleaning is recommended for most upholsteries.
Fixed textile upholsteries
The best way to clean fixed upholstery is to use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush nozzle. Avoid using a hard brush, as it may damage finer upholsteries. When using detergent, try it on a small, invisible area first to ensure it does not affect the colours.
Don’t leave the sofa under direct sunshine, as the colours may fade. Soften the light with curtains or blinds.
Using a professional cleaner is always a good option.
Fixed Leather Upholsteries
Leather is a living, breathing material which changes with time and part of its beauty is that there are no two leathers completely alike.
Variations in texture and colour
Leathers bear the marks of nature and history –- unusual fur patterns, stretched, irregular areas and the occasional cut or bruise. Different parts of the material allow dryers and dies to penetrate to a different degree, resulting in slight variantions in colour.
Changes in softness and texture
Leather grows softer with time and usage. Expect to see a slight loosening and a few wrinkles here and there after the first few weeks.
Maintenance
Following the advice below will extend the life of your leather upholstery significantly:
Cover the sofa when away for extended periods of time. This will prevent dust from penetrating the surface of the material.
Wipe the sofa's surface with a wet soft towel once a week. If you want to remove a stain, use lukewarm water and plain soap. Do not use detergents that contain wax, oils or silicon, as they will age the upholstery prematurely. Stains should be removed immediately.
Do not leave the sofa in direct sunshine and extreme heat for extended periods of time. Heat may loosen it unnecessarily, while sunshine may fade the colours. Soften the light with curtains or blinds.
Do not sit on the sofa's arm-rests and back.
Claws and toys/objects with sharp edges will damage the leather irreparably.
Bear in mind that ink (from pens) will react chemically on contact with leather, becoming indelible. Any attempts to erase ink marks will result in further damages to the upholstery.
Fixed Faux Leather Upholsteries
Faux leather provides infinite possibilities for unique, effective design. It is also easier to maintain than real leather. One of its disadvantages is that, unlike real leather, it does not breathe and is, therefore, not used in the upholstery of seats, where textiles are preferred.
Follow the advice below to extend the life of your faux leather upholstery significantly:

The fibres in microfibre are made of 100% polyester and are 100 times thinner than a human hair. It is a very strong material, impregnable to water. The best way to clean it is to use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush nozzle. To remove stains, wipe the upholstery with a wet soft towel, using lukewarm water with plain soap. After the moisture dries, use a soft brush to restore the upholstery's uncombed look. Stains should be removed immediately.
